MEDVIA seeks members for new Care Advisory Council

With a eye to connecting our members with the end users of their innovations – the patients – MEDVIA is launching the Zorgadviesraad, a new advisory council made up of care providers and patient organizations. And we are seeking participants!

MEDVIA has a Board of Directors and an Innovation Board, and now we are looking to connect with the “end user” of innovative products and services – patients and caregivers. That’s why we are putting together a Zorgadviesraad, or Care Advisory Council, which will help us determine how to connect these groups with the medical innovations our members are developing. The council will operate in Dutch, and the first meeting is on 29 November in Brussels.

As Flanders’ newest spearhead cluster – representing “healthtech and innovative healthcare” – MEDVIA’s primary mission is to foster and support companies that develop innovative technologies and applications for the healthcare sector. However, we find it essential that the end user is involved as much as possible in this process.

Companies benefit from a good understanding of the needs in healthcare but also of how people working in healthcare use these innovative products. At the same time, healthcare providers and representatives need to know what is technologically possible so that they can think alongside developers about possible healthcare solutions and how to make them more efficient and patient-friendly. In other words, we would like to break down the barriers between the two worlds.

On 29 November, we will host the first meeting of the Care Advisory Council. By following the advice of this council, MEDVIA can develop concrete actions and support existing actions. Should your organization provide hands-on healthcare to patients or represent patients, we would be happy to have someone in your organization apply to be a member of this new council.

Interested candidates should email a short letter of motivation in Dutch (< 1000 characters) and CV to info@medvia.be by 7 November. Do be aware that places are limited; to achieve optimal dialogue and cooperation, we plan a council of 15-20 representatives. We will respond to all parties by 22 November.
