European alliance Medic Nest launches website and newsletter

Medic Nest – the alliance bringing together clusters involved in precision medicine from four European countries – recently launched both its new website and newsletter. MEDVIA is a founding member of this consortium together with Imago-Mol of Romania, Biotecyl of Spain and Hellenic Biocluster of Greece.

Medic Nest recently launched a dedicated website and a newsletter for members of its four cluster organizations. Read the first edition of the newsletter and sign up to get it delivered straight to your in-box.

MEDVIA and the other founding clusters were successful in obtaining funding from COSME, the EU program for small and medium-sized enterprises. Medic Nest is supported by ClusterXchange, a pilot project to facilitate exchanges among Europe’s industrial ecosystems. COSME provided a grant of €487,000 to the project, which has a total operating budget of €626,000 for the initial 24-month period. The project ends on 31 January, 2024.

Direct access to partners

MEDVIA now has direct access to potential partners in eastern and southern Europe, which helps facilitate collaboration among local and regional healthtech SMEs as well as public authorities. You an also take advantage of the Live Grid tool to get European exposure for your project.

But this is just the beginning: The intention is to continue Medic Nest beyond the initial funding period, and grow it to become a European alliance of medical clusters. Medic Nest will become a meta-cluster, an alliance of many clusters spread all over Europe. This will offer unparalleled opportunities to local members to engage with partners, investors and funding opportunities anywhere in Europe.

Improving services and strategy

Medic Nest launched earlier this year: The name comes from MEDIcine Clusters integrating digital technologies for New EcoSystems in HealThcare. While the aims and ambitions will grow over time, it is currently working to enhance the services provided by its cluster organizations through capacity-building trainings and benchmarking processes.

The four cluster organizations are co-operating on the development of strategic planning processes, including a European Meta-cluster Strategy in Precision Medicine and a Joint Action Plan for Precision Cancer Medicine.

The Medic Nest newsletter will keep you up to date on projects, collaboration opportunities and news on precision medicine. Sign up on the website to get it delivered straight to your in-box
