Two members of MEDVIA won prizes at the Zorgwerkgever van het Jaar (Healthcare Employer of the Year) awards, an annual ceremony organized by Zorg Magazine. For this 10th edition, the magazine’s jury received 91 nominations and whittled them down to 30 final nominations, three in each of the 10 categories.
The evening’s big prize, Healthcare Employer of the Year, went to AZ Groeninge. With two campuses in Kortrijk, the hospital is part of the E17 hospital network and employs more than 3,120 people.
The hospital stood out to the jury for several reasons, including its strong commitment to employer branding that has brought in many new employees, who have the use of an innovative onboarding app. The jury also noted the hospital’s progressive vision on training and leadership development, the hands-on approach of its board of directors and its employee surveys.
The Home Health Care of the Year award, meanwhile, went to the Wit-Gele Kruis van Antwerpen. What put it over the top was a strategic exercise under the supervision of Vlerick Business School, which led to a new mission, vision and strategy. The new mission emphasizes a commitment to friendly, personable care in close cooperation with hospitals and general practitioners. Wit-Gele Kruis has just recently joined MEDVIA.
Two members of MEDVIA also got honorable mentions in the Hospital of the Year category: AZ Delta and UZ Brussel.
