CEO Roundtable: Challenges and solutions for CE certifications

MEDVIA is pleased to announce the second edition of CEO Roundtable, a C-level meeting and lunch focused on a specific topic that is of concern to our members. In March we will gather in Leuven to discuss medical device regulation (MDR) and certification backlogs.

CEO Roundtable gathers C-level executives from our membership base to share experiences, suggest solution-oriented ideas and enter into discussion with our guest speakers. The first CEO Roundtable of 2024 will be focused on challenges involved in MDR and certifications across Europe.

Roundtable + Health Meets Hardware

It’s a special edition of CEO Roundtable, taking place just ahead of the Health Meets Hardware event at the Sportoase in Leuven, part of the multi-city Flanders Technology & Innovation festival (FTI). Everyone who registers for the Roundtable will also have access to Health Meets Hardware, a €249 value.

CEO Roundtable: MDR & certifications
20 March 12.30-14.45
Sportoase Leuven, Philipssite 6
Guest speaker: Virgine Siloret

Existing CE-mark devices sold in the EU and new devices hoping to be put on the market face major challenges in conformity assessment procedures. Certificates are due to expire between 2027 and 2028, and there are not enough notified bodies to handle the workload of re-certifications that need to be done.

Virgine Siloret is the Global Medical Devices Certification Manager with the Geneva-based SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company. She will discuss the challenges and solutions involved in the gap between notified bodies, the medical device industry and market operators.

We will also introduce you to the pan-Europe NoBoCap project, a consortium working to increase accessibility and capacities of notified bodies and ensure that innovative health solutions can reach the market more swiftly and efficiently. MEDVIA is one of the founding members of the NoBoCap project.

Who can attend?

The CEO Roundtable is open to C-level executives among MEDVIA’s membership who are developing or assisting in developing healthtech innovations. This Roundtable will include lunch, followed by the interactive discussions. There is a fee of €150 for members at the Cultivate and Connect levels. Carry members attend for free (€150 no-show fee).

Please let us know by 1 March if you would like to attend the CEO Roundtable on MDR and certifications. We will contact you following your registration.
