MEDVIA’s Say Yes to the US internationalization series is culminating with a mission to the US

Who can join the mission?

MEDVIA is organizing a mission to New York/New Jersey and Las Vegas this autumn. Our ongoing Say Yes to the US series offers advice from American experts and Flemish companies on how European health innovators can enter the US market and thrive. Now we’re implementing this advice by giving you a foot in the door!

Everyone interested in connecting with US investors and the US market is welcome to join us, especially those who participated in the MEDVIA course Say yes to the US. We welcome healthtech, medtech and digital health companies as well as hospitals and university tech transfer officers to join us on our mission to the United States.

New York

The first part of the mission offers companies a golden opportunity to pitch to American investors who are less risk-averse and have already put Flemish biotech on the market. We aim to replicate this success for our healthtech ecosystem! While their investment might be secure, your pitch must be exceptional, showcasing not only the potential for significant returns but also the robustness and viability of your business model

Our pitching event will provide ample opportunities to talk and connect with investors and American entrepreneurs offering a platform to showcase your innovative ideas and solutions. If you wish to pitch your company, please register for the mission by 5 August and email your non-confidential slide deck to MEDVIA. A selection of candidate companies will be chosen to pitch, depending on the available slots.

Las Vegas

The second part of the mission focuses on the massive HLTH conference in Las Vegas. HLTH is the number-one must-attend event in healthcare, hosted at a fantastic venue that brings together 10,000+ healthtech and healthcare entrepreneurs, investors, payers, providers, buyers, care providers,and government bodies. 

This global event is an unparalleled opportunity for networking and learning. The crème de la crème of healthtech investors will be at HLTH Las Vegas and you will have the opportunity to schedule 1-1 meetings with them.

  • Visit BioBat incubator, connection with the NYC stakeholders including Suny Downstate, NYCEDC, Empire State Development, LifeSci NYC

  • Boat transfer to DUMBO, Brooklyn – breathtaking views of downtown Manhattan, Statue of Liberty, Governor’s Island
  • Dinner and a short walk in DUMBO, one of the most Instagrammed neighborhoods in NYC, particularly for its stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and its picturesque cobblestone streets
  • Transfer to hotels (walk, boat, train or taxi)

How much will the mission cost?

  • NYC: €350 flat fee covering two lunches, two dinners, bus and boat transfers.
  • Las Vegas: €350 flat fee allowing you to use the MEDVIA booth and networking space for your meetings. Note: This does not include registration for the conference!

Air travel, lodging and the HLTH conference fee are NOT included in your ticket for the mission. Please consult the website of Flanders Investment & Trade for reimbursement of your air travel and lodging.

The mentioned fees are for MEDVIA members. For BioWin and Hub.Brussels members and non-members, please click “Get tickets” on the registration page.

Please check with MEDVIA for conference registration and lodging in Las Vegas. We have a special discounted rate for the HLTH conference, as well as a limited amount of discounted hotel rooms. Registering by 5 August is essential.

We recommend setting aside some €1,000 (per person) for travel and accommodation for New York, and some €4,000 (per person) for travel, accommodation and event fees for Las Vegas.
