Medical Diagnostics Goes Micro and Smart: Closing Gala
24 Jun 2024

The Coock project Medical Diagnostics Goes Micro and Smart is coming to a close! The two-year collaboration by Sirris and MEDVIA focused on micro-production and smart automation technologies for the development of point-of-care diagnostic and testing devices.

The project will go out with a bang at this truly (inter)active event for the entire lab-on-a-chip value chain. This closing gala is free and takes place in Sirris’s specialized labs in Liege. All companies are invited to get an insight into the results of the project and into the micro-production technologies for microfluidics that Sirris has to offer, from prototyping to testing to production.

Microfluidics project closing gala
24 June, 10.00-16.00
Sirris Liège, Liège Science Park
Rue du Bois Saint-Jean 12, Seraing

The event will focus on the microfluidic lab-on-a-chip community in Belgium. This includes start-ups and established companies that want to explore microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology or already have ideas about using it in a new application. We also welcome providers – commercial and academic – contributing to the design or realization of lab-on-a-chip systems and companies already marketing microfluidic applications.

What we have  in store for you

  • Overview of the development trajectory of a lab-on-a-chip device
  • Demonstration of the lab-on-chip system developed during the project
  • Tour of the microfabrication lab
  • Presentations on design for molding of micro-featured parts, thermal verification and flow verification
  • Pitch sessions from the lab-on-a-chip service and product suppliers (Interested in pitching? Contact us!)

The closing event is free, but registration is required. Please register here.

Spread the news in your network of suppliers and customers, so we can realize a true Belgian microfluidic community together!

What is Coock?

Coock stands for Collectief Onderzoek & Ontwikkeling en Collectieve Kennisverspreiding/-transfer. Funded by VLAIO, Coock projects allow a research institute to share the building blocks of specific technology with industry or public/governmental concerns. The goal of Coock projects is to valorize research results by accelerating the introduction of technology and knowledge to a broad group of companies.
