Why do you NEED to attend?

Learn more about what’s new with the 2024.2 call! Next to the ICON and research & development projects, we also welcome applications for other projects such as cSBO (strategisch basisonderzoek), TETRA, and COOCK projects.

We will also provide more information on additional support towards the application of VLAIO projects that are submitted outside the cluster earmarked financing. This means that if organizations submit a non-cluster VLAIO project (hence, without the obligation of the consortium of 3 organizations), they can also get MEDVIA support in drafting the project application.

Abstract and proposal-writing workshops will also be offered in the upcoming months! Full list of important dates to come soon.

Who is eligible for funding?

MEDVIA, through the support of Flemish innovation agency VLAIO, provides earmarked, non-dilutive funding to projects that offer solutions to unmet medical needs. Projects must involve collaboration between the biotech, medtech and digital tech sectors. Companies and organizations do not have to be members of MEDVIA to apply for funding, though membership does significantly reduce success fees.

Better together

MEDVIA and flanders.bio have joined forces to become Biovia

Biovia is the new name of the health innovation cluster formed by the merger of MEDVIA and flanders.bio. With a united voice, we will champion the entire healthtech and biotech ecosystem on the regional, federal and European stage.

Biovia reflects a One Health vision: a holistic approach that recognizes the interdependence of human and planetary health. Together with our 400+ members, we are forging a path to a resilient health innovation ecosystem in Flanders.
